Psychotherapy & Consultation

Telemedicine / teletherapy sessions are psychotherapy or consultation sessions conducted via videoconferencing or via telephone which makes it possible to better meet the needs of clients who may have a difficult time coming to a physical office location or who simply have no professionals in their geographical area with the particular expertise I offer.

Telemedicine / teletherapy videoconferencing uses programs such as Skype, and is private, confidential and secure.  If you are familiar with Skype, you will find videoconferencing to be both familiar and easy to use.

The  telemedicine / teletherapy videoconferencing software is free to download and to use.  There is no cost to you.  The software runs on both Windows and Macintosh computers and on Apple iPad tablet computers.

The  telemedicine / teletherapy software is also easy to set up and use.  I will forward instructions to you to set up the free videoconferencing software on your computer or tablet to get things up and running smoothly.

If you are a new client, there will be a small amount of paperwork to complete prior to the first session.  This paperwork can be exchanged via mail, fax or email.

Many clients find  telemedicine / teletherapy more convenient than coming into a physical office location because of mobility limitations or scheduling.  They also find telemedicine / teletherapy offers a safe, therapeutic environment that effectively meets their needs.

Some of my clients prefer to have sessions over the telephone rather than by videoconferencing.  I can accommodate either videoconferencing or telephone sessions or a combination of both.

While  telemedicine / teletherapy sessions, whether via videoconferencing or telephone, offer some advantages over in-person sessions, it may not be appropriate for you depending on your needs and circumstances.  Please contact me to discuss whether  telemedicine / teletherapy sessions are appropriate for you and your needs.
